We thank you Lord, for this term.
For the challenges, the successes,
and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right;
to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays,
to appreciate what others do for us,
to give time and effort to help others,
to be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities;
give us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents
and a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.

Amen

A Message from the Acting Principal

As Term Three draws to a close, I just want to offer my sincerest gratitude to our school community. I have thoroughly enjoyed filling the role of Principal over the past five weeks. It has been an extremely rewarding experience and I am very grateful for the opportunity.

To our parents, thank you for your support and contributions to our school. This term, we have seen some wonderful community building events which would not have been possible without your participation and engagement. Some highlights have been our Athletics Carnival, Disco, First Holy Communion, Fathering Project Car Building, Book Week Parade, St Pius X Feast Day, our Parent’s Breakfast and of course, our Grandparents Mass.

Our P & F have done an amazing job in their service to St Pius X and we look forward to many more opportunities in Term 4 to gather as a community.

I would also like to extend a thank you to our School Advisory Council for your time and contributions to St Pius X.

To our staff here at St Pius X, thank you for your stewardship. Your dedication and care to our students, families and school is truly appreciated. Finally, to our students, you are the heartbeat of St Pius X. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication this term. Please enjoy a well-deserved rest with your families over the holidays.

Just a reminder our Pre-Kindy class will commence on Monday 10th October.  We are looking forward to having our 3 Year Old Kindy students back for Term 4.
Our Kindy – Year 6 students will commence Term 4 on Tuesday 11th October.

We will see you in a couple of weeks for what is set to be an eventful Term 4.

God Bless

Kim Hughes
Acting Principal

Classroom Queries
Our process when queries arise at a classroom level must in the first instance involve the parent and the classroom teacher.

In most cases, an arranged phone call or meeting between yourself and the teacher is enough to resolve or clarify any queries or concerns.

If in any instance your queries or concerns are not resolved, you many then contact the Assistant Principals to assist in reaching a resolution.

If your queries or concerns are still not satisfied, you may then meet with the Principal for further discussion.

For more detailed information about our Disputes and Complaints Resolution Procedure, please visit our School Website.

Students Leaving St Pius X
If you are intending to leave St Pius X at the end of 2022 and have not notified the school,  can you please do so as soon as possible.  A full terms notice is required in writing.

Sports News

Our Junior Primary Sports Carnival took place yesterday, Tuesday 20th of September. After date changes and threatening rain, we were able to push through and have our Kindy and Pre-Primary students compete in all their events. All the students competed superbly and showed their family, peers and the Year 5 and 6 students how well they have been practising for their events throughout the term. I would like to congratulate each child for their fantastic efforts, I hope they are all very proud of themselves.

Thank you to those family members who came down to watch, and to those for participating in the sack races. I am sure the students appreciated it greatly and loved seeing your sack race efforts. Thank you to the parents who offered to help before and after the carnival. Thank you to our fantastic EA staff at St Pius X for your help throughout the term and on the day, and to Greg, thank you once again being a great announcer.

Grandparents Day Mass & Morning Tea

It was wonderful to see so many Grandparents join us for our Grandparent’s Day Mass and morning tea last Friday. Thank you to all who came to celebrate and reflect on the relationships the children at St Pius X have with their grandparents. A big thank you Fr Patrick and to the P & F ladies for organising a beautiful morning tea for our special visitors.
