Prayer for the School Holidays

Loving Father, as we come to the end of another school term, we turn to you in confidence and place any difficult relationships into the healing hands of Jesus, your Son. Enable us to leave behind any pain of the past and any regrets or bitterness, entrusting the past to your mercy, the present to your love, and the future to your providence.

Help us appreciate more the need to keep a good balance in our lives. May the holiday be for us a time of rest and recreation to help restore us and re-create us in your image and likeness, as we enjoy more of the love and presence of our families, on whom we ask your blessing.

A Message from the Acting Principal - Mrs Natasha Gregory

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

In the blink of an eye, Term Three is coming to a close! I hope that you all move into the holiday break with a smile and have an opportunity to relax and recharge with your families.

P&F Movie Night

What a great turn out we had at the recent P&F Movie Night! It was lovely to see all the children in their winter pyjamas, with rugs and teddies to keep them warm and comfortable! The Sausage Sizzle was well supported and the children received popcorn and a chocolate during the screening.

There were many laughs and much excitement during the movies (especially the infamous “Chicken Jockey!” moment in the Minecraft movie), and I have no doubt that each child went home happy, tired and full stories for mum and dad! A big thank you to Alisha Trend for her planning and organisation, the Year 5 parents for the setup, supervision and clean-up and the Year 4 Canberra Camp committee for organising the sausage sizzle.

Sacrament of Confirmation

On Sunday 14 September, a group of our Year Six students were blessed to receive the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation. After weeks learning about their chosen saint, and how they will be changed by the impact of the Holy Spirit in their lives, the day arrived. Each of our thirteen candidates arrived dressed in their Sunday best, and with their Sponsor beside them. The mass, led by Fr Anthony, was beautiful and reverent, and each student read beautifully. We as a school community are very proud of our students taking the next step in their faith journey and hope that throughout their lives, they continue to build a deeper relationship with God, through the church.

Our sincere thank you to: Fr Anthony for supporting our students throughout their preparation at school and for leading the mass; Marie and the catechists for preparing the Parish students, decorating the church and attending the workshop, Mr Stone for his tireless work, our families and sponsors for developing our love of Christ in the home and supporting us on the day of the Sacrament. All in all, a very special and important day!

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

What a fantastic day we shared on Tuesday 16^th September at the SPX Athletics Carnival! The weather held out and we were rewarded by sunshine, a cool breeze, smiles on the children’s faces, and a wonderful sense of community. Our children demonstrated the SEARCH values of service, excellence, relationship and courage throughout the day, by supporting their friends and factions, challenging themselves to set personal bests and displaying amazing teamwork.

A special thank you to Mr Cooper for his outstanding organisation and tireless efforts in bringing the carnival to life. I’m also incredibly grateful to the dedicated staff and supportive parents who helped make the day such a success. From the early morning set-up to the delicious sausage sizzle provided for lunch, the day was a huge success!

Thank you for the smiles and well wishes over the past month while Miss Vranjes has been away! I look forward to seeing you all in Week One of Term Four.

Look at what’s been happening in Year 2

As part of our Design and Technologies lessons, Year 2 students designed and built their very own Pet Rock Houses.

They carefully collected natural and recycled materials they believed would be most suitable for creating a safe and creative home for their Pet Rock. Throughout the process, students explored how different materials from the environment can be used for construction and design.

Once the houses were complete, we extended the activity to include an English outcome -writing imaginative narrative stories featuring each student’s Pet Rock.

Tennis Lessons

🎾 Marshall’s Tennis Academy – Term 4 Lessons 🎾
We’re excited to announce that Marshall’s Tennis Academy will be offering tennis lessons for Year 3–6 students on Thursday afternoons during Term 4.

Start Date: Week 2 – Thursday, 23 October
Duration: 8 weeks
Time: 3:15pm – 4:00pm
Who: Years 3 – 6
Where: School Courts
