O Lord our God,
You alone are the most Holy King and Ruler of all nations.
We pray to You Lord,
in the great expectation of receiving from You, O Divine King,
mercy, peace, justice and all good things.
Protect, O Lord our King, our families
and the land of our birth.
Guard us, we pray most faithful one.
Protect us from our enemies and from Your just Judgment.
Forgive us, O Sovereign King, our sins against You.
Jesus, You are a King of Mercy.
Have mercy on us, Lord, and forgive us.
We trust in Your great mercy.
O most awe-inspiring King, we bow before You and pray;
May You be with us always,
gently showing us the way to Your kingdom in heaven.
Amen.

A Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
This Sunday our Church will be celebrating the Feast of Christ the King. This special feast day marks the end of our liturgical calendar and reminds us, as we prepare to enter the season of Advent, of the importance of recognising Jesus as our saviour and ‘Sovereign King’.
It serves as an invitation for all of us to reflect on how well we are emulating Christ’s love, compassion and understanding for our fellow brothers and sisters. It is a gentle reminder for us to pause to see things from other people’s perspectives and, metaphorically speaking, ‘walk in the shoes’ of others. As we move towards the Feast of Christ the King and the season of Advent, it is my prayer that each of us will spend some time, with our Saviour, in quiet contemplation; may we draw upon Christ’s fountain of love and strive to be a source of love, hope, light, inspiration and kindness to all those we encounter in our daily lives. Let us approach each day with an open heart, an open mind, and an open spirit, and display utmost respect for the dignity of each person.
Kindy Induction Morning
On Friday, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming our 2023 Kindy students and their parents to our school community. It was such a joy to watch our prospective students play together and explore their surroundings. It was also lovely to be able to chat with our Kindy parents, particularly those who are new to our school. Thank you to Mrs Kucan and Mrs Sanchez for facilitating such a warm, welcoming induction for our upcoming Kindy students.
Swimming Carnival
After a long wait, our Swimming Carnival is finally upon us! I know our Year 3-6 students are very much looking forward to being able to participate in their respective races and cheer their peers and factions on. Whilst the weather is not forecast to be as warm as it is today, we’re hopeful that it won’t be too cool. It may be an idea for students to pack a long sleeve top to wear in between races.
Thank you to Mrs Matthews and to the parents who have volunteered to assist on the day. As we all know, days like this don’t just happen. They require an immense amount of planning and preparation.
Colour Run
This Friday, our wonderful P&F had organised for our students to have Red Rooster for lunch, followed by a fun filled Colour-Run. Unfortunately, due to the cool and inclement weather forecast for Friday, and in the best interests of our students, it has been decided to postpone the Colour-Run to next Friday 25th November. Students will still have their lunch catered for as planned – it is just the Colour-Run itself that has been rescheduled.
Sister Martina
We are very blessed to have Sister Martina join our school community. Sister Martina, who joins us from the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition, will be working with our Kindy and PP students on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. I know that you will join me in making Sister Martina feel welcome. If you get the opportunity to chat to her, I’m sure she would happily share some of her experiences serving the less fortunate in the Philippines and her home country, Myanmar.
Annual Community Meeting
Our ACM will be taking place in our School Library next Tuesday 22nd November at 7pm. It would be greatly appreciated if you are able to join us and share in our Advisory Council’s and P&F’s celebratory reflections on what has been a successful and rewarding year. Our P&F will be looking for some new parents to join their dynamic team. Nomination forms will be available on the evening. We hope to see you there.
Remembrance Day
Thank you to our Year 3 students, and to Miss Tickner, for leading our school in a reverent Remembrance Day prayer service. I am incredibly proud of all our students for the way in which they conducted themselves, respectfully honouring the minute’s silence, remembering, and praying for those who lost their lives in a bid to restore peace in areas of conflict. It was heart-warming to watch the children process from the undercover area to the flag post near our basketball courts in absolute silence. Thank you also to the parents who joined us for our Remembrance Day service. Your presence and support is always greatly appreciated.

Wishing you all a peaceful week ahead.
May we all go forth bringing love, light, laughter, hope, joy and generosity of spirit wherever we go.
God Bless,
Melissa Vranjes
Principal

COVID-19 Self-Reporting Link
As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in WA, it is vitally important that parents and caregivers continue to inform the school if their child tests positive for COVID-19. Your compliance will ensure the risk to others is minimised and that we do our very best to limit the spread of the virus across our community.
If you or your child returns a positive test, please fill in the form on the CEWA Self-reporting portal through this LINK
Fathering Project
Thank you to all the Dads and Kids who attended the SPX Annual Camp Out. A fun night was enjoyed by all and we look forward to doing it again in 2023. Let’s hope Mr Hughes remembers to turn off the sprinklers.
Pre-Primary Visit to Clontarf
The Pre-Primary students were excited to visit Clontarf Aboriginal College on Friday. After an exciting bus ride on the Clontarf bus, the students were welcomed by Aunty Jill and gave her a heartfelt acknowledgement. Then it was off to view the Noongar seasons garden, fire pit and beautiful grounds with the Year 7 and 8 students from Clontarf. These students also read the children books that had been written by their peers. The Pre-Primary students then gave out poppy biscuits they had baked to their new friends and enjoyed a morning tea outside. As they were farewelled around the Yarning Mat, the Pre-Primary students presented the Noongar Seasons book they wrote and illustrated to Ms Morley and Frances Haji-Ali, Principal of Clontarf. Clontarf Aboriginal College generously gifted St Pius X a set of stools covered in fabric printed with indigenous artwork. These will be placed in our Library for all our students to use and enjoy.
It was a beautiful morning, and we thank the staff and students of Clontarf for being so welcoming and friendly. The Pre-Primary students are to be congratulated on their enthusiasm, questions, and lovely behaviour.
